Only a DAY of gratitude?

Steve Sailer reveals his hateful anti-semitic hatefulness as he proposes but ONE measly day to celebrate Jewish immigration and thank these valuable contributors to America for their efforts in making America more deeply and truly American:
Reading the columns of David Brooks, Bret “I have always thought of the United States as a country that belongs first to its newcomers” Stephens, and Roger Cohen, I now realize we should have a national holiday celebrating the immigration of their ancestors to the United States.

This National Day of Adulation and Gratitude for Jewish Immigration might be the only hope of keeping them from trying so hard to convert every other American national holiday into an occasion for their own ethnocentric ancestor worship.

Worse, instead of frankly admitting that they really, really like their own kind, the Brookses, Stephens, and Cohens feel compelled to concoct elaborate globalist theories about why every single American national holiday is a mandate for letting in not just their forefathers, but every scimitar-waving Muslim on earth.
If Steve didn't hate and envy Jews, he would have proposed at least a week of celebration, although perhaps repurposing the 40 Days of Lent would be more appropriately demonstrate the boundless debt of gratitude every American no doubt feels to these true blue Americans who are exactly like every other American except for having arrived later and being more special.

The war on Canada's small towns

You may think you can run away from the urban centers, but the pro-immigration elite has plans to subsidize the settling of immigrants and refugees in small towns as well:
I was on my way to work one morning around the beginning of March, when I decided to stop at MacDonald's for a morning coffee, one of the few luxuries I can afford, despite having trained for four different fields of work throughout my life in Ontario, Canada. At my current job, I am by far the highest educated worker, with vast training, including a graduate degree in the chief public service that the organization provides: human services. Yet, I am employed on contract at the lowliest clerical job, with the poorest status, and wages and without benefit, not even vacation time (only money in lieu of vacation). That in it-self should raise the eyebrows of the handful of critical thinkers that still exist in this nation.

Immigration is a working class issue, make no mistake about it. If you were waiting for the wealthy to intervene and to try and stop immigration, that isn't going to happen — ever!

At this point, the immigration tap doesn't need to only be turned off, we actually need restoration efforts to make up for the losses sustained by Canadians proper — restorative justice.

I waited for my coffee, which was being poured by a long-time Canadian such as myself. Likely he was forced to take any job in order to continue to live in this town, like citizens in so many other small Ontario towns, which have suffered for decades as the jobs left for nations where products could be manufactured at a lower cost to create a product of poor quality to sell back to people like us.

I reached for the newspaper rack, and ended up with a newspaper in my hand, which I have learned through the application of my critical thinking skills to distrust and despise. Yet, it was in my hand, so I read the headline, "The Future Of Ontario's Small Towns Is Immigration."

I was served my coffee and I gulped it down, not paying attention to it, but rather the headline and burning my mouth and throat in the process. The pain was no comparison to the raw feeling of acid burning in my gut as I continued to read the front page newspaper story, which the low wage workers serving me would likely never even get a chance to glance at throughout their stress-full day at work.

Imagine having watched your entire community being fed a steady diet of raw potatoes and turnips for thirty years, and in order to survive you've swallowed it, but not because you liked it, but because you had been led to believe it was the only way to survive. And then one day you discovered that you could have been eating steak and lobster, and it was all a grand farce, because the joke was on you and the rest of the folks in your towns and communities all across the nation.

Reading that Toronto Star article, on that freezing cold morning in March, I recognized that "we" the working class had all been made complete fools, not once but again and again and again, as lie after lie was unveiled for us by grinning political shysters.
In case you haven't figured it out yet, you're not going to vote the invaders out. Immigration is not "good for the economy". It is not "good for Americans". It is not "good for Canadians". It is, in fact, considerably worse for the native populations in the long term than Operation Barbarossa was for the Russians.

All of the 3.4 million invading Germans were expelled from Soviet territory within three years. How long will it take to expel the 80 million invaders of the USA? The frightening thing is that immigration on this scale isn't just invasion, it is permanent occupation.

The God-Emperor wins them over

National Review appears to be finding a strange, newfound respect for the Trump Presidency:
This Thanksgiving, Americans in general — and free-market conservatives in particular — have plenty for which to be grateful. And much of it would be absent had the White House’s current occupant not become president on November 8, 2016.

The day after Donald J. Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, Princeton University economist Paul Krugman called Trump’s victory “the mother of all adverse effects.” He predicted “very probably . . . a global recession, with no end in sight.”

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 all hit record highs on Tuesday. The Wilshire 5000 Index calculates that some $3.4 trillion in new wealth has been created since President Trump’s inauguration and $5.4 trillion since his election. Fueled by the reality of deregulation, expectations of lower taxes, and a new tone in Washington that applauds free enterprise rather than excoriate it, the economy is on fire.

Atop the second quarter’s 3.1 percent increase in real GDP, and 3.0 in 3Q, the New York Federal Reserve Bank predicts that 4Q output will expand by 3.8 percent. This far outpaces the feeble average-annual GDP growth rate of 1.5 percent on President Obama’s watch. Meanwhile, the IMF expects global GDP to rise by 3.5 percent this year. So much for a Trump-inspired “global recession.”

The Never Trump faction still claims that the president of the United States “is no conservative.” And yet, with rare deviations (such as free trade), he spends nearly every day implementing the conservative agenda. Ideas that center-Right activists have demanded for decades are becoming public policy, one after another — to the pleasant surprise of even some of Donald J. Trump’s most enthusiastic supporters.

Ten months down. Thirty-eight to go. The best is yet to come.
Still not tired. By the way, I would be remiss if I failed to mention that Crypto.Fashion is holding a Black Friday weekend sale on nearly all of its Dark Lord Designs t-shirts, which includes $10 closeout sales of Trumpslide 2016 shirts. They are also now offering black Infogalactic and Castalia House coffee mugs.

BOOK REVIEW: MAGA 2020

This is a review by a guest reviewer, Castalia House narrator Jon Mollison:

Regular readers of this blog need no long and detailed rehashing of the decades of success globalists have achieved by injecting their message fiction into every nook and cranny of every medium of news and education and entertainment.  Regular readers of this blog have all too often put down books, walked out of theaters, or snapped off the television with an angry snarl of, “enough with the message fiction!” Nor do they need yet another reminder that technological advances have reduced the barrier to entry for books and comics and videos such that the left-wing stranglehold exists solely by dint of decades of inertia and capital accumulated by their forebears.  This being the Current Year Plus One, we can take that wonderful theory and expose it to the harsh light of scrutiny to see how well it works in practice. Before we grab our Deerstalker Cap and hold our magnifying glass up to Superversive Press’s latest collection, “MAGA 2020 & Beyond”, we need to get something out of the way.

This is not message fiction.

For decades, “message fiction” has been used to describe “ugly left wing lies wrapped up inside pretty fiction packages”.  Mainly because that was the only message fiction available.  Right wing message fiction was consigned to the dustbin of unpublishable  Now that the Pandora's box of self-and small press publishing has been opened, the peddlers of message fiction and their supporters want to change the meaning of the term to encompass all fiction with any message. But just as they no longer get to decide which messages are conveyed via fiction, they also no longer get to decide the definition of “message fiction”.  And so the meaning retains its stink of left-wing propaganda.  Hence, this collection of pro-Trump essays cannot be classified as "message fiction".

Granted, MAGA 2020 & Beyond” is filled, cover to cover, with the exact same sort of heavy handed symbolism and wishful thinking and oversimplification you would expect given the title and cover art. And yet it isn’t message fiction, because the messages conveyed by these tales are neither ugly, nor left wing, nor are they predicated on a view of the world that just ain’t so.  These works represent a direct challenge to message fiction.

So it isn’t message fiction, but is it any good?

Some of it is good.  Some of it is great.  Some of it is lousy.  I can't tell you which is which, though.  That you'll have to discover for yourself.

This collection contains thirty pieces of fiction and non-fiction, many of them by well recognized authors such as Brad Torgerson, L. Jagi Lamplighter, Declann Finn, Milo, Ivan Throne, John C. Wright, and Jon Del Arroz. It also includes works by rising stars such as Alfred Genesson, Dawn Witzke, Marina Fontaine, and the inimitable @Kaijubushi.

While the writing snaps and pops across the board, the styles of works in this eclectic collection of authors runs the gamut. The tone of the stories varies wildly, from Del Arroz’s over-the-top wahoo story of a TrumpMech piloted by young Barron fighting an irradiated Kim Jong-Unzilla (spoilers!) to the Christine Chase’s much more understated tale of a young woman serving as the audience for her grandmother’s reminisces about the days of fighting the black bloc and driving them from the streets way back in the early 2020’s. The weight of the message varies within the works as well. Sometimes the point of the story is a thin patina, as in Marina Fontaine’s story of a man coming out of the conservative closet and admitting his wrongthink to relatives. Sometimes it has all the subtlety of a Neil Blomkampf movie, as in Scott Bell’s story of police officers forced to head into the bleak hellscape of a city set aside as a reservation for socialists to live out their dreams of starvation and death camps where their idiocy can’t hurt decent Americans.

As to the non-fiction, they covering an equally wide spread of political ground. Ivan Throne offers an apologia for Trump that resonates with those who appreciate the multivariate ways in which the God-Emperor operates to destabilize the Deep State. John C. Wright’s unique erudition shines through as bright as ever in his think piece on how the cockroaches have and continue to scurry about in the wake of the 2016 election. My personal favorite of the non-fiction pieces is Monalisa Foster’s essay on the nature of language and her experience as a right-wing writer bobbing along in a sea of the left-wing subculture of writing.

That broad spectrum of approaches solidifies the book's appeal for those across the political spectrum - at least that part of it that lies to the right of NPR. Edited by Jason Rennie, an excellent judge of work and a fine editor, "MAGA 2020 & Beyond" in unafraid of a little experimentation.  Some of the experiments work, and some don't, but they are all worth reading, if only to find out where your personal line lies between "fun" and "preachy".

The skinflints among this book’s readership will feel likely cheated and argue that the works they don’t like somehow took enjoyment away from the works they do. That’s an unfortunate way to view this book, given that one of the underlying themes that consistently occurs in each work is a message of optimism and hope for the future. Like America herself – like Trump himself for that matter – this is not a perfect book. It has a few sour notes and no one will like everything they find between its covers, but on the whole, this book is fantastic. It stands for something much greater than itself, and it inspires those who embrace it to do more, to do better, and to make more of themselves.

It's also worth noting that MAGA 2020 & Beyond largely forgoes pessimistic sneering at the common culture in favor of a more sunny approach.  This book oozes with optimism and takes the path of building something worth reading rather than conducting more Monday morning quarterbacking of the dumpster fire that is American media.  It's a positive approach to replacing the dumpster fire with a roaring backwoods bonfire, complete with an invitation to men of good will to join in the laughter and fun.  In that, this book also represents another example of the shift in the cultural war from a decades long Republican rear-guard action to an aggressive attack by the right-wing newcomers who seek to capture the cultural high ground through building something up rather than trying to tear something down.  As such, this book represents a far more effective action than all of the think pieces ever written by the National Review crowd.

Of course, the real question for readers is whether or not this collection is worth the money, and the answer to that is a resounding YES. You probably won’t like all of it, but there’s a definitely something in here for everyone.

For certain definitions of the term, “everyone”.

Happy Thanksgiving

I have much for which to be thankful to God this year. The Castalia House team has performed brilliantly. The Infogalactic team has not only kept the trains running on time, but has continued to march steadily towards the long-term strategic objectives. The Alt★Hero campaign succeeded well beyond anyone's expectations and a team is now in place that shows every sign of being as good as the other two teams. And the seeds for Voxiversity have been planted.

Above all, this community has demonstrated its remarkable ability to make a difference through commitment, discipline, enthusiasm, and faith. I thank God for all of you, especially those of you who don't believe in Him yet.

Thanksgiving and the Indian traitor

There is an important Thanksgiving lesson here for Americans, who have repeated, and repeatded again, Massasoit's fatal mistake:
Massasoit was the sachem, or political and military leader, of the Wampanoag confederation, a loose combination of villages in southeastern Massachusetts. About five years before the Pilgrims arrived, Massasoit’s people had been decimated by diseases brought by earlier European traders. Entire villages had been depopulated—including a Patuxet village that the newly arrived Pilgrims settled into and named New Plymouth.

As Mann explains, Massasoit was in a bind. The epidemic that had hit the Wampanoag hadn’t touched their longtime enemies to the west, the Narragansett. Massasoit feared his weakened people would be overrun, so he decided to gamble and let the Pilgrims stay. European traders had been visiting New England for at least a century, but Indian leaders always forbid them from establishing permanent settlements. The relationship was strictly transactional. Far from seeing the Europeans as superior, writes Mann, the Indians had good reason to take advantage of these strange newcomers:

Shorter than the natives, oddly dressed, and often unbearably dirty, the pallid foreigners had peculiar blue eyes that peeped out of the masks of bristly, animal-like hair that encased their faces. They were irritatingly garrulous, prone to fits of chicanery, and often surprisingly incompetent at what seemed to Indians like basic tasks. But they also made useful and beautiful goods—copper kettles, glittering colored glass, and steel knives and hatchets—unlike anything else in New England. Moreover they would exchange these valuable items for cheap furs of a sort used by Indians as blankets. It was like happening upon a dingy kiosk that would swap fancy electronic goods for customers’ used socks—almost anyone would be willing to overlook the shopkeeper’s peculiarities.

Massasoit’s plan was to allow the Pilgrims to stay—as long as they allied with the Wampanoag against the Narragansett.
"We'll bring in the foreigners as allies to defeat our domestic enemies." This  was neither the first time nor the last time someone has made that mistake. See: the British Labour Party, the U.S. Democratic Party. And in the case of the Wampanoag, the strategy turned out as history reliably dictates. The natives never seem to grasp the possibility that one day they will be outnumbered by the newcomers.
As for Massasoit and the Wampanoag, their peace with the Pilgrims lasted more than 50 years, until 1675, when one of Massasoit’s sons launched an attack and triggered a conflict that would encompass all of New England. The Europeans won, in large part, according to Mann, because by then they outnumbered the natives.
50 years. Interesting. Why, it was just 52 years ago that the Naturalization Act of 1965 was enacted....

Mailvox: midwit history

It's no secret that I am not a fan of midwits. These responses to my previous post on Fake Americans and their Fake History may help explain why. They are the walking, talking examples of Dunning-Kruger in action. When I talk about them being relative retards, this is exactly the sort of thing I'm describing. Be sure to note how JM actually thinks he is correcting me.
According to your theory Britain, Canada (until two decades ago or so), Australia and New Zealand should be the best examples of freedom loving people in a land where the rule of law exists, where the government is not massive and social and economic freedoms are respected, in other words, Switzerland or close to it since their populations are by far MUCH MORE ANGLO than whatever you find in the U.S., less "tainted" by Germans, Italians, French and so on. I think we can all safely agree and that ALL the countries mentioned and less free and their populations endure more oppressive governments (female idiocy to the max, PC quasi-dictatorship, socialist policies, end to the right to bear arms, etc etc.). The worst part is that peoples of those countries CLAIMED FOR, ELECTED, AND ENACTED their governments actions with glee, only a tiny minority resisted or tried to do so.
That's ridiculous. The "British brethren" of the British Empire were obviously a different subset of Anglo stock than the American settlers. Anglo-Saxon Protestant heritage is a necessary requirement of reliable community support for individual liberty and limited government, but it is not a sufficient one. Many Canadians are descended from British settlers who were loyal to the crown and were driven out. Australia is descended from criminal deportees; if you ever wondered why Sydney is a center of gay depravity, look up the crimes for which many of those criminals were deported.

As for the British themselves, they went through several hundred years of exporting and killing off their best and boldest. It should be no surprise that those who remain today are little more than island-dwelling dodo birds, blithely welcoming the newcomers who have already replaced them in their capital.

Anyone who thinks Switzerland is a bastion of individual liberty has never spent more than five minutes there. A friend of mine who worked in Zurich for five years collected various fines I would not have believed possible, including one for excess noise after 10 PM and another for turning on his fog lights when the amount of rain did not necessitate doing so. To put it his way, "imagine a homeowner's association run by uptight German women."
Whether you like it or not, your theory is full of holes and cannot explain why the peoples whose entrance you decry were allowed to enter en masse by the "virtuous protestant men of British stock" that inhabited the US back then, while the countries that should be shining examples of freedom due to their Protestant ethic (hahaha) and Anglo-saxon "pure" heritage sink ever so low. You don't seem to realize that Irish and Italians were brought as low cost labor not out of a "duty bring white men of good character". You don't seem to realize that if anything, the mixture of European peoples in the U.S. might have slowed down the destruction of the liberties that many Americans take for granted etc.
This guy's binary reasoning is so inept that he would similarly argue that my theory of NFL defense is full of holes and cannot explain how the Vikings were able to score on the Rams; obviously if the Vikings reached the end zone, then the Rams must have intended for them to do so.  And the idea that the addition of various peoples with no tradition of liberty or limited government somehow managed to slow down the destruction of now-vanished American liberties that their most illustrious members openly worked to destroy is simply too stupid to be mendacious.

Every generation has a faction arguing that relaxing the rules can't possibly do any harm. The Founders were no exception; the fact that they were naive about immigration and failed to adequately protect their posterity from themselves does not change the fact that their original vision for the United States in no way approximated anything even remotely close to what we see today. The irony is that in JM's arguing for American civic nationalism and the irrelevance of national origin, he is actually making a strong case for utterly ruthless ethnic cleansing, as evidently permitting even one otherwise unobjectionable exception is sufficient cause to give future civic nationalists grounds to destroy the nation.

Sertorius is similarly confused, but less obnoxious:
The Framers absolutely intended a British ethnostate, yet welcomed all white men of good character. Which was it? And since "intention" implies instrumentality, where exactly are the plans--even if they're just jottings on a cocktail napkin--that will bring forth such a polity?
Both. First, they had a very different definition of "white" than we do today. Second, they only intended to allow enough whites of good character to permit them to fully assimilate through interbreeding. (Notice that they didn't establish a reliable mechanism for policing "good character" either, therefore they must have intended to import criminals and Satanists, right?) Third, they had set up a structure in which the several States were supposed to be entirely sovereign. They felt that this arrangement would suffice to address any fundamental differences; what would it matter to Massachusetts or Virginia if Pennsylvania was adulterated by Germans? Of course, the Civil War proved them wrong only four-score-and-change years later.

The Founding Fathers didn't intend a single British ethnostate, but rather, a number of distinct British ethnostates as well as a few mixed white ethnostates. If you recall, they were rather favorably influenced by the historical Greek city-states. This is exactly why citizens of the USA should be praying for a reasonably peaceful breakup and non-violent ethnic cleansing instead of desperately trying to preserve the unsalvageable.

The real problem the civic nationalists have with history is that it clearly spells out the horrors that are likely on the way for the West. They avert their eyes and offer silly, nonsensical arguments about the intentions of the Founders in order to dispel the fear that is quietly gnawing at their bellies. But it won't work, and in any event, nothing they say, and nothing I write, is going to make any difference whatsoever. I have no doubt that back in 372 AD, there was a Roman living in the town of Marcianopolis who was looking on in disbelief as 200,000 desperate Visigoths were permitted to cross the Danube to protect them from the Huns. Because refugees.

What could he have done about that? What possible difference could his arguments and his opinion have made? I like to think that Roman was smart enough to leave Marcianopolis and go very far away before Fritigern rose up to pillage the Roman north and slaughter the Emperor Valens at Adrianople six years later.

Churchianity and the Cross

"Jesus did not die on the cross so the world could rebuild the Tower of Babel."

The days of failing to confront Churchianity, Good Samaritanism, Equality in the Church, Refugeeism, and other false, heretical teachings that attempt to pass themselves off as What Jesus Would Do are over. They are branches severed from the tree and there is neither truth nor life in them. And far too many Christians need to be reminded of that.

Aslan is not a tame lion. The purpose of the Church is not to ensure that no one's feelings are hurt.

Hashtag canceled

A longtime DC Comics fan explains why he recently canceled his subscription.

Like many kids, I enjoyed comics, but as I got older I gave them up so it had been decades since I'd bought one. In 2016 DC, realizing that their sales were slumping and the effect of SJWs on their comic franchises, launched Rebirth, which was a supposed return to the roots of the characters. I've always liked Batman and Superman and decided to give them a shot. My focus here is with the political and moral implications of the various comics, not specific plots, unless they were especially good or bad. The art ranged from really good at times to mediocre but that's outside the scope of this too. I'm not looking for political perfection in my comics and I expect them to be as far left as the average TV program--which is at minimum center left.

However, I was finally forced to conclude that Rebirth is an SJW bait-and-switch aimed at traditional fans, and that all of the reborn comics will eventually be as converged as they were before. And that's not even taking into account the fact that Marvel's big SJW, Brian Bendis, is now coming to DC to do to Superman what he did to the various Marvel lines.

Detective Comics: Read #934-956

The main arc is that Batman assembles a team to help in Gotham which includes Batwoman and even Clayface. The Clayface plot was actually pretty good of why he was a villain and him trying his best to reform his life. A positive highlight was the Victim Squad. They were a group of people who through Batman's actions in the past were "collateral damage". They had physical ailments, suffered loss, etc. They collectively decided that since something bad happened to them it justified whatever they wanted to do to the world and of course wanted revenge. I think this was a direct swipe at the victim culture. Another interesting plot is that Batwoman's father is a military man who is running a black op to take out sleeper agents in Gotham. Batman stops him and moralizes at him, then throws him in jail. All well and good except Batman is dead wrong, the military guy is right, and there are sleeper agents in Gotham. I stopped reading it at Robin's (Tim Drake) death because it was such a stupid plot device, and the it was obvious they were going to bring him back quickly making his death meaningless. The series has a few lesbians as as friends of the team and mentions that Batwoman was forced to leave the US Military Academy due to her being in a lesbian relationship. I'd say overall it's center left, but not full SJW.

Titans: Read #1-10

Not much to say here. It's pretty boring, but the art was nice. I didn't really care about the characters and I don't remember a lot of heavy politics by the time I gave it up.

Superman: Read #1-#35

This is the best of what I read. Superman is heroic, always tries to do what is right, including being a good father and husband to Lois. The art is good, the plots are classic, with an interesting twist that Lex Luthor is now a good guy (maybe). The best part of this series is the interaction between Superman and his son. I don't even think I could nitpick this series if I wanted to as Krypto "Superdog" is even in it and defends Superboy and Superman. This is what comics should be like.

Doomday Clock:

I read the preview and it is 100% converged. "Undeplorables", Russia is the enemy, and William F. Buckley Jr. is a villain. This is the future of DC now, as this event will impact the continuity going forward.

Action Comics: #957-987

This is the series which made me give up on DC. It starts out reasonably well and retells Superman's origins, death at the hands of Doomsday, and explains how this Superman got here as apparently he died again before this series of illness and this Superman is from New Earth, not Earth Prime on which things happen now. (Confused yet? Welcome to the silliness of comic continuity.) The plot dragged down as Doomsday showed back up but there was no tension because they weren't going to kill Superman again with Doomsday since started with Superman #1. They high point is where Lois and Jon (Superboy) pray for their father during the fight.

From there it goes downhill plot-wise and the SJWs show back up. First after raising their son in an idyllic countryside about an hour from Metropolis Lois decides that she isn't fulfilled and a whole lot of horrible rationalizing begins by Lois and Superman of why she needs to go back to work at the Daily Planet, live in an apartment, and Superman of course goes along with all of it. Even though they both admit it's not necessary monetarily, and Jon loves his friends and where he lives. He complains but they don't give a shit and move him to a skyscraper because it makes them happy. (Are Babyboomers writing this?)

Then an SJW writer takes over and "the worst evil humans can commit" is brought about by some guy named Dr. Oz which includes a white hunter teaching his son in Africa to poach rhino horns, white rebels in Africa stealing medicine, white sweatshop owners, and a white guy who lost his job to Hispanics - expressly illegal immigrants - tries to gun them down while wearing an American flag bandanna on his head. I stopped reading right then, and got my money refunded on my Kindle. In fact I had purchased a few others I had not read yet and got my money refunded on all of them too.

With the recent Bendis hire, I can only imagine where things are headed. I'm sure Superman will be fully converged soon. I'm a casual fan, so any corrections in the above with regards to plot or characters is appreciated and I'm sure that the serious fans will have a lot of good insights to add which I missed. I'm also curious to know about some of the other series like Green Arrow or Wonder Woman are like, and what state they are in since Rebirth.

The collapsing NFL

TNF: TEN-PIT -36%
EDH: KC-NYG -39%
LDH: NE-OAK -22%

Those are not ratings declines, those are cliff dives. Especially when all three games were featuring elite franchises in the playoff hunt. It's already being estimated that NFL advertisers have lost over $500 million due to the ratings decline, and that is when they were in the 20 percent year-on-year range.

It's a little astonishing that no one has ever hired me as an SJW consultant for their business, when it is readily apparent that SJW-convergence is one of the most immediate and pressing threats that ANY business can face.

Diamond is down 20.27 percent year-on-year because SJW. Marvel is down 9 percent year-on-year because SJW - a little surprised it is that low, to be honest. DC is down 10.5 percent because SJW.

SJW doesn't pay

The saddest thing about this post by a disillusioned woman is that only some corporations view a Gender Studies degree as a negative:
I'm a graduate of UC Berkeley with a major in Gender and Women's Studies. I had a 3.94 GPA and a 750 on the GMAT. My WE isn't that good, I've been a "Youth Outreach Coordinator" for Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach. I make like 30k a year.

To be honest, I was overly idealistic and extremely naive. I was extremely liberal/socialist, and that got worse at Berkeley, where I thought good intentions and a pedigreed university would empower me to change the world. I was deluding myself of the employability of my Gender Studies degree. It's actually been a con to some corporate employers. I'm disillusioned.

Social justice work isn't for me, and I want out. The fact that I've learned, is that some marginalized groups are definitely victims of their circumstances, but others are there for genuinely poor decisions, and not all are deserving of unvarnished empathy. I can't take this anymore. But I haven't been able to get non-retail or non-low-level sales jobs in the business sector.

My dad was a management consultant at Bain, and I miss my family's lifestyle and standard of living. I want to go into management consulting now. I'm fine with tier 2/big4/boutiques, doesn't have to be MBB. What are my options?
Her best option is to get a retail job, get married, have children, then quit the job. A university education is worse than wasted on most intelligent women, being an observably dysgenic and societally destructive accomplishment.

The chief consequence of encouraging women to pursue college degrees is lowering the average national IQ. This is not merely a negative consequence, it is a catastrophic one that future historians will be sure to note played a role in the collapse of various Western societies.

Fake Americans, fake solutions

This article by an early Fake American conclusively proves the power of identity politics even as he attempts to "solve" the problem of them.
The beginnings of identity politics can be traced to 1973, the year the first volume of Alexander Solzhenitsyn’s Gulag Archipelago—a book that demolished any pretense of communism’s moral authority—was published in the West. The ideological challenge of socialism was fading, its fighting spirit dwindling. This presented a challenge for the Left: how to carry on the fight against capitalism when its major ideological alternative was no longer viable?
No, the beginning of identity politics in the United States can be traced to the mass immigration of Italians and Irish back in the 1800s. But as students of Roman and Byzantine history know, mass immigration and the identity politics that follow from it long precede the existence of the United States.
In 2004, Harvard political scientist Samuel Huntington published Who Are We? Huntington examined the stunning immigration, both legal and illegal, from Mexico and argued that it was undermining longstanding notions of American national identity. America, Huntington said, has both a creed and a culture. The creed is formulated in the founding documents of our nation and in the speeches of Abraham Lincoln. The culture derives from the Anglo-Protestant settlers who first peopled North America. Huntington worried about a “hispanicization” of American culture. This book was controversial, to say the least. Nor was it without weaknesses. It is hard for this descendant of Irish and Italian immigrants to accept the notion that America’s culture is monolithically Anglo-Protestant.
Every single time. And why would it be hard for Mr. Continetti to accept a basic fact of American history? Because his name is Continetti. The amusing thing is that he would probably angrily deny my claim to be a true blue Italian despite the fact that by his own illogic, I am more genuinely Italian than he is. Those who deny identity politics while clinging to their own identities will inevitably descend into self-parody sooner or later.
Identity politics is a veneer over the class politics that truly defines our society, and education is the best prism through which to view class in America today.
Ironic, that a self-styled conservative would turn to a Marxian analysis in order to deny the identity politics that give him feelbads. Conservatives really have become yesterday's liberals. Identity politics is not a veneer. It is the inevitable consequence of rival identities. Note that in Singapore, the leadership began consciously managing identity politics and to characterize Singaporeans by citizenship rather than national identity because its population was only 75 percent Chinese, (13.7 Malay, 8.7 Indian, 2.6 various), a percentage they felt to be too low to support genuine nationalism.
To combat identity politics, we must emphasize an American nationalism based on both a commitment to the ideals of the American Founding and a shared love of our national history and culture—a history and culture of individual freedom and religious pluralism, resistant to centralized authority and ever expanding into new frontiers and new possibilities.
Who is this "we", kemosabe? How is this fake nationalism going to survive when it is based on a commitment that no one has to actually make and a love that is never going to be measured or held accountable? Will those who refuse to commit or simply don't possess the love be stripped of their paper nationality and expelled? If not, then this is just more high-minded Fake American blather meant to disguise the fact that while they are citizens of the same multinational imperial state, neither they nor their ancestors were ever truly Americans.

UPDATE: So much for propositional conservatism. He has to go back.
The GOP tax bill's bringing out my inner socialist. The sex scandals are bringing out my inner feminist. Donald Trump and Roy Moore are bringing out my inner liberal. WHAT IS HAPPENING?

The False Narrative of Churchianity

The Zman rightly excoriates Churchianity and how its false narrative tends to cause people to erroneously reject genuine Christianity:
The alt-right, like the larger dissident right, is a cultural phenomenon, not a political movement. Smart young males, mostly out of necessity, are picking up paleo-conservative ideas and questioning the prevailing orthodoxy. These ideas are being extended to question the core assumptions of modern American political order. It’s more akin to the Scientific Revolution than a political movement. The former was about rethinking our place in nature. The latter is about rethinking who gets to be in charge.

It’s why it feels like the alt-right is hostile to Christianity. It has to be. What is generally understood to be mainstream Christianity in America, has been hollowed out by Progressivism, and is now worn like an animal skin by crackpots and degenerates from the fringes of the Left. Even the more culturally conservative parts of the country practice a form of Private Protestantism than embraces extreme egalitarianism, anti-racism and universalism. It’s not an accident that these churches are deep into the refugee rackets.

I think most big names in the alt-right avoid the subject, mostly because it results in howls about how this is not real Episcopalianism or this is not real Christianity. It’s reminiscent of the days when academic Marxists would say the Soviet Union was not real Marxism. It may be theologically true that the current iterations of Christianity are outside the traditions and teachings of the faith, the fact remains that the people running mainstream Christianity these days look a lot like the faculty of your local gender studies department.

That’s not a small thing. The reason the New Left was able to sweep the field in the culture war, that included deposing the Old Left, is that their thing took on a quasi-religious tone. Humans are built to be believing machines. That’s a part of biological reality our side has yet to face, but it must be faced eventually. Something is going to have to fill the spiritual vacuum if this cultural phenomenon is going to be a cultural and then political movement. An Alt-Right form of Christianity would be a welcome development.
The important thing is to remember that the -ist is not the -ism. If the core tenets of Christianity as encapsulated in the Nicene Creed are true, then it is relevant to the Alt-Right no matter what corrupt Churchians may do in the name of the Lord.

The Alt-Right form of Christianity is no different than the Alt-Right form of science and the Alt-right form of history. It is the true and uncorrupted form that is not being worn by its enemies as a skin suit.

Take away their feminist cards

The women of SNL sell-out their sisters on behalf of Senator Fish Lips Frankengroper:
SNL Women Offer Solidarity  in Support of Al Franken

We feel compelled to stand up for Al Franken, whom we have all had the pleasure of working with over the years on Saturday Night Live (SNL).  What Al did was stupid and foolish, and we think it was appropriate for him to apologize to Ms Tweeden, and to the public. In our experience, we know Al as a devoted and dedicated family man, a wonderful comedic performer, and an honorable public servant. That is why we are moved to quickly and directly affirm that after years of working with him, we would like to acknowledge that not one of us ever experienced any inappropriate behavior; and mention our sincere appreciation that he treated each of us with the utmost respect and regard.

We send our support and gratitude to Al and his family this Thanksgiving and holiday season.

Truly pathetic. One would think that the fact that they were following in the Dunham Horror's footsteps would have been sufficient to give them pause. It's an interesting line of defense too. Perhaps the next bank robber charged with robbing a bank should consider requesting letters of support from all the banks he didn't rob.

Besides, it's not going to save him.

Richard Scarry, converged

Remember, there is nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, the SJWs consider too sacrosanct to soil. In fact, the more sacred you hold it, the more eager they are to destroy it.
A much loved children's story book has had a revamp to make it more politically correct, including placing a male bunny in the kitchen helping his wife. 'The Best Word Book Ever' by US author Richard Scarry was first published in 1963, but over the years the illustrations have been gradually tweaked to bring the book up to speed with modern times.

The colourful illustrations of rosy cheeked pigs in police uniforms and rabbits getting the children ready for school are very much the same, but 'policeman', 'fireman' and 'handsome pilot' have been changed to unisex titles such as 'firefighter'.

Male characters are also pictured looking after children and cooking, whilst female characters have been given careers such as farming and labouring.
I wonder what was the purpose of this atrocity against history? Ah yes, that old standby, inclusivity!

SJWs always lie. Tell a friend.

Lower IQ, declining productivity

More of the unseen benefits of mass immigration altering US demographics:
Evidence from the American Time Use Survey 2003-12 suggests the existence of small but statistically significant racial/ethnic differences in time spent not working at the workplace. Minorities, especially men, spend a greater fraction of their workdays not working than do white non-Hispanics. These differences are robust to the inclusion of large numbers of demographic, industry, occupation, time and geographic controls. They do not vary by union status, public-private sector attachment, pay method or age; nor do they arise from the effects of equal-employment enforcement or geographic differences in racial/ethnic representation. The findings imply that measures of the adjusted wage disadvantages of minority employees are overstated by about 10 percent.
White men are more productive on average. This isn't news to anyone who actually works in the labor force or is familiar with national productivity statistics. The good news is that at least it isn't racist. White women are less productive too.

But it is one more piece of evidence showing that immigration is NOT good for the economy. It is, however, good for white contractors.
Subway-repair contracts had to be issued and work performed as emergency repairs to every leg of the DC Metro train system this summer. Populated 92% Black, every maintenance job up to the most specialized engineering positions are held by Blacks, who cannot perform said work. Like women in the Navy, they hold the job, knock down the pay and benefits, but someone else has to do the work under contract.

Please stop

Starting? We're not "starting" to hate them. And the rules of the game are what they are. Kurt Schlichter very somberly warns the Left that if they don't stop doing what they're doing, he's going to have to warn them even more somberly again.
Liberals have chosen to coarsen our culture. Their validation and encouragement of raw hate, their flouting of laws (Hi leakers! Hi Hillary!) and their utter refusal to accept democratic outcomes they disapprove of have consequences. What is itself so surprising is how liberals and their media rentboyz are so surprised to find that we normals are beginning to feel about them the way they feel about us – and that we’re starting to act on it. If you hate us, guess what?

We’re going to start hating you right back.

Cue the boring moralizing and sanctimonious whimpering of the femmy, bow-tied, submissive branch of conservatism whose obsolete members were shocked to find themselves left behind by the masses to whom these geeks’ sinecures were not the most important objective of the movement. This is where they sniff, “We’re better than that,” and one has to ask ,“Who’s we?” Because, by nature, people are not better than that. They are not designed to sit back and take it while they are abused, condescended to, and told by a classless ruling class that there are now two sets of rules and – guess what? –the old rules are only going to be enforced against them.

We don’t like the new rules – I’d sure prefer a society where no one was getting attacked, having walked through the ruins of a country that took that path – but we normals didn’t choose the new rules. The left did. It gave us Ferguson, Middlebury College, Berkeley, and “Punch a Nazi” – which, conveniently for the left, translates as “punch normals.” And many of us have had personal experiences with this New Hate – jobs lost, hassles, and worse. Some scumbags at an anti-Trump rally attacked my friend and horribly injured his dog. His freaking dog.

So when we start to adopt their rules, they’re shocked? Have they ever met human beings before? It’s not a surprise. It’s inevitable.
You can always tell a conservative who still hasn't quite fully embraced the new reality. He just can't resist the urge to issue dire warnings to the Left, desperately trying to convince them of the error of their ways or else. He still has to proclaim his preference for the older, more genteel, more civilized way. It's tiresome. It's tedious. Most of all, it's pointless in a time of identity politics.

And yet, it shows that he is gradually getting where he has to go. He is starting to hate. The Alt-Right is inevitable; the ultimate success of the Alt-Right will be when the name disappears and the greater part of the 16 Points is simply synonymous with what it means to be Right.

Most of us aren't "going to start hating" the Left. We started that a long, long time ago. I can't even honestly say that I hate it anymore, at least, no more than I hate mold. The point is, you either get rid of the mold or you move somewhere else to get away from it. The one thing you do not do, the one thing you cannot do, is try to warn it, fix it, or coexist with it.

Conservatives simply don't grasp that "please stop" is no more convincing than "please clap".

Sales of books, candles, rise

It would certainly be amusing if Scott Van Pelt was numbered amidst the many coming ESPN layoffs:
ESPN will lay off more than 100 staffers after the Thanksgiving holidays, multiple sources tell Sports Illustrated. The layoffs, which were described by a person briefed on the plans, will hit positions across ESPN including front-facing talent on the television side, producers, executives, and digital and technology staffers. The SportsCenter franchise is expected to be hit hard—including on-air people—given the frequency of the show has lessened considerably on main network ESPN.

The network declined comment to SI on Thursday afternoon.... ESPN continues to be impacted by the changing habits of consumers including cord-cutting and cord-nevers (those who have never purchased a cable subscription) as well as the rising costs of sports rights. The network has dropped in households from 100.13 million in 2011 to an estimated 87.5 million households today.
Notice that all these SJW-infested companies are in double-digit decline. I was told this evening that Marvel is going to try to turn things around, but the problem is, they are either going to have to clean house almost completely or their new editor-in-chief is going to find himself at war with nearly 100 percent of his current writers and artists. And I find it impossible to believe that Disney, of all companies, is going to engage in full-scale deconvergence operations.

Regardless, I will bet that within 24 months, either Marvel or DC will be asking me to work with them in some capacity. Because we even do SJW better than they do, as you will see later this week.

In the meantime, ESPN has new policies designed to try to prevent their more outspoken SJWs from attacking their viewers: “Communication with producers and editors must take place prior to commentary on any political or social issues to manage volume and ensure a fair and effective presentation.”

It's far too late for that. They're not fooling anyone.

Frankengroper

Apparently ol' Feel-Em-Up Fish Lips likes to grab women by the buttocks too:
Lindsay Menz, a 33-year-old woman who now lives in Frisco, Texas, reached out to CNN on Thursday hours after Tweeden made her story public. Menz said she wanted to share an "uncomfortable" interaction that left her feeling "gross."

According to Menz, she attended the Minnesota State Fair with her husband and father in the summer of 2010, almost two years after Franken was elected to the Senate. Her father's small business was sponsoring a local radio booth, and she spent the day meeting various elected officials, political candidates and celebrities and taking photos with them as they stopped by the booth.

When Franken walked in, Menz and her husband, who also spoke with CNN, said they recognized him right away. Menz said she had a brief and cordial exchange with the senator.

Then, as her husband held up her phone and got ready to snap a photo of the two of them, Franken "pulled me in really close, like awkward close, and as my husband took the picture, he put his hand full-fledged on my rear," Menz said. "It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek."

"It wasn't around my waist. It wasn't around my hip or side. It was definitely on my butt," she said, recalling that the brazen act lasted three or four seconds. "I was like, oh my God, what's happening."

"He reached around her and kind of pulled her into him," said her husband Jeremy Menz, who didn't see what happened behind his wife. "He pulled her in and pushed his head against her head. It was over pretty quick."

Lindsay Menz told CNN that she walked away as soon as the photo was taken, without saying anything to the then-first term senator. When she reconnected with her husband moments later, she told him: "He totally grabbed my butt." Jeremy Menz described that conversation the same way to CNN.
BELIEVE THE WOMEN! WOMEN DON'T LIE ABOUT BEING GROPED BY SENATORS!

It's amusing how CNN uses mildly distancing language for these articles about Democrats behaving badly. It's always "Woman Says" instead of "Franken Grabbed Woman". But we know they believe her, or it would have been "Woman Claims".

The Frankengroper must resign!

Now we have a pretty good why the media isn't holding these sexual assailants responsible:
Charlie Rose, host of the "Charlie Rose" show and a "60 Minutes" correspondent, was accused by multiple former employees of sexual harassment in a report released Monday afternoon. The Washington Post reported that eight women told reporters that Rose made unwanted advances toward them, including groping them and exposing himself.

Merkel fails

The rise of Alternativ fur Deutschland has prevented Angela Merkel's CDU from being able to form a government:
On Monday morning, the German Chancellor emerged without agreement on forming a new coalition government from marathon talks, that promotes the chance of new elections. The leader of the AfD party gave his vision on the situation.

According to the head of Alternative for Germany (AfD) Alexander Gauland, the "time has come" for Angela Merkel to leave the post of the German chancellor, as she "failed" to form a new German coalition government.

This comes as earlier on Monday the German Free Democratic Party (FDP) announced its withdrawal from the coalition talks with the union of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) and Christian Social Union in Bavaria (CSU), led by Merkel, and the Greens (prospective 'Jamaica coalition'). The latest set of talks broke up at 4 am local time on Friday, November 17, but the preliminary negotiations on forming a coalition started on October 18. However, disagreements over such issues as migration and climate change have prevented parties from reaching a deal.

The CDU/CSU bloc could agree to form a minority government with the Greens. If no government is formed, a new parliamentary election will have to be scheduled.
It is now incumbent upon the Germans to stop supporting the destructive pro-immigrant, pro-refugee, anti-German parties. You don't get a Hitler by evicting foreigners, you get a Hitler by permitting too many of them to live in your country.

ESPN doubles down

As you would expect, of course. Because SJWs are always going to do what SJWs do. ESPN's Scott Van Pelt can't imagine how anyone might spend their evenings rather than sit slack-jawed in front of the television every night:
VAN PELT: Sure. Of course. I mean, right. Everything you said is true, I'm going to boycott this — And for the folks, if you truly wanna boycott the NFL or if you wanna boycott ESPN, the notion that some guy sitting out there, or gal, and they decide, "You know what, I’m gonna go ahead and cut my entire cable package because ESPN gave an award on a made-up show in July because there’s no sports to a woman who used to be a man, so I’m now not gonna have any cable TV at all, and I’m gonna sit around at night and read books by candlelight like olden times because of that." That’s just, that's not happening.

And if you did that, then you’re so dumb that I can’t even pray for you because you’re beyond hope. If that was your reaction to this — was to deny yourself the ability to watch television — I mean that just hasn’t happened and didn’t happen.
It can really be rather remarkable to be provided a clear description of the drivel that passes for SJW thought processes. There is so much wrong with their thinking that it is hard to know where to even start.

SJWs simply don't understand that we view their moral imperatives and assumptions in much the same way that they view the KKK and the German National Socialist Workers Party. We are no more inclined to fund their incessant celebrations of immorality and insanity than they are inclined to pay for the racism, sexism, and fill-in-the-blank-ophobia they so vehemently decry.

We can live without cable TV. We can live without ESPN. And we know that they cannot survive without us. Cut the cord. Starve the SJW media. And if you want to understand why they will never back down, not even when their corporate survival depends upon it, read SJWADD.

Though I wonder if Van Pelt would feel differently if he knew people were sitting around at night reading the 4GW Handbook?

Game theory and civic nationalism

Tipsy explains how logic dictates that civic nationalism is intrinsically doomed to failure in any multicultural society.
Civic Nationalism is doomed to fail in a multicultural society because it represents an unstable pareto-optimal equilibrium of the game of resource optimization through democratic politics. The non-cooperative Nash equilibrium, i.e., everyone out for their own group, becomes more stable when a democratic political system is overwhelmed by disparate ethnic groups.

For those inclined to read further about the distinction between these two equilibria, here's an example of game that admits both types of equilibria. Suppose we have two players, A and B, who are playing a croquet game on a level field. Both players have a croquet mallet that can hit a ball exactly one foot in any direction and they get to hit it exactly once per round of the game. For each round, Player A is rewarded $1 for each foot the ball goes North and player B is rewarded $1 for each foot the ball goes West.

They both start the game willing to cooperate, and thus they decide to employ the Pareto-optimal solution, so they both hit the ball to the Northwest. They ball will go 2 feet Northwest and both player A and B will both get $1.41 (i.e., round(100*sqrt(2))/100).

Now, suppose in the next round, player A hits the ball to the Northwest as agreed upon, but player B decides to no longer cooperate. After player A hits the ball, player B hits it due West. Player A ends up with $0.71 and Player B gets $1.71 for the round.

Player A then gets pissed, and decides not to cooperate. So, the next round he uses a Nash strategy and hits the ball North and the still uncooperative Player B hits it West. They both end up with $1 for the round.

Note that the Pareto-optimal (cooperative) equilibrium yields the most money for both, but it is leaves each of the players vulnerable to the other cheating. The Nash-optimal (non-cooperative) equilibrium leaves both with less money, but structures the game in such a way that minimizes the consequences of the other cheating.

The Left has been using a Nash strategy for years, and "Conservatives" have been duped or shamed into using a Pareto strategy. The alt-Right is finally saying "Ok, you want to play that way, we will too." This pisses the Left off, because they liked the marginal advantage that cheating in a cooperative game gave them. The alt-Right doesn't care, goes full on Nash, because it understands the "game" is fundamentally non-cooperative now.
The scary thing is that the situation is even worse than he explains it. There have actually been THREE players, a Pareto player, a Nash player, and an anti-Pareto player. The anti-Pareto player has been playing to either a) hurt the Pareto player or b) help the Nash player, as he has no interest in money, but simply wants the psychic reward of achieving either (a) or (b).

What has changed is that a new Nash player has entered the field. This modeling is probably too complicated to bother with, especially since any numbers assigned would be arbitrary to the point of complete fiction, but regardless, both Tipsy's original description as well as the more complicated version suffice to demonstrate that civic nationalism could never survive once sufficient Nash players were on the field.

There is nothing cooperative about US politics now. This is both an observable reality as well as a logically dictated consequence. Civic nationalism is now every bit as discredited and thoroughly disproven as communism, and any intellectually honest man will have to admit as much. Ironically, most of those still attempting to disprove it will achieve little more than revealing that they are actually Nash players hiding under a false Pareto front.

To sum up the discussion from last night in the other thread, it is observably better for a nation to be atomic-bombed, militarily defeated, and occupied by a foreign power than for it to adopt civic nationalism and mass immigration.

It is inevitable

Faith Goldy makes the move to the Alt-Right:
My heart is with civic nationalists, I want to believe. However, a deliberate evisceration of national identities coupled w mass migration has made my head at odds with my heart. Right wing civic nationalists are no better than Leftist do-gooder multicultis -- result is ethnocide.
I completely understand those whose emotions trouble them on this subject and desperately want civic nationalism to be true. I once felt much the same way about it and other concepts I ultimately had to reject. But in the end, the head must always rule the heart, and the lessons of both history and current events are absolutely clear. Civic nationalism is nothing more than globalism lite.

The gradations of convergence

Cataline helpfully defines them for us:
Cataline's completely arbitrary list of SJW Invasive Destructiveness.

SJW Fortified: Organizations that were built with resisting SJW entryism as one their deck planks.  SJWs will try anyway because they are parasites and parasites must feed.
Example: Castalia House

SJW Resistant:  Organizations whose internal culture is resistant to entryism by it's nature.  Any place where everyone has to start at the bottom and work like hell just to get a foot in the door.  Lower level corporate culture provides considerable protection.
(*Surprise*) Example: Disney Parks, "Yeah I know it's 94 degrees and you are wearing a forty pound bear suit.  NOW DANCE MORE SPRITELY YOU FAGGOT!"  Entryism in these cases are the result of top down pressure, when it can be managed at all.

SJW Neutral: Organizations that are under the impression that  they can stay open minded even with a few SJWs on payroll.  Entryism and eventual Convergence are guaranteed.
Example: the 2010 version of Cracked.com.

SJW Compliant:  Organizations that bow to external SJW pressure despite the damage this causes.
Example: Target.

SJW Friendly: Organizations that invite SJW guidance and follow SJW politics but are still (temporarily) functional.
Example: Google.

SJW Converged: The target organization of Entryism has been killed and the SJWs are now "parading around in it's skin.  Demanding respect."
Example: Take your pick.

Now Converged is as low as Vox Day has gone so far but I have a level beneath Converged.

SJW Cancerous:  Organization is so diseased it is destroying everything it touches.  One that is so converged it is completely dysfunctional and is only still surviving due to it's ability to parasitize a host.
Example: Marvel Comics.
On a not entirely unrelated note, I'm pleased to be able to say that the entire first 48-page volume of Avalon #1 has been written, and the first 24-page Alt★Hero comic has been both written and illustrated. We are making rapid progress and we are on track to get the first digital comics and the first 24-page print editions out in February. We are also establishing a second imprint for publishing content that we have not created ourselves, for which we have already agreed to sign three unrelated graphic novels produced by outside parties.

The 24-page editions will NOT be delivered to backers except for the two #1 versions which will be included as bonus rewards to everyone who will receive either HC#1 and/or PB#1. They are post-campaign creations that are going to be used to provide us with a presence in the comics stores. They are inexpensive and you will be able to obtain them from the stores.

The handicap of high IQ

This recent finding on intelligence and leadership will not surprise anyone at this blog:
Although intelligence is positively correlated with inspiring and capable leadership, there’s a point where a leader’s IQ offers diminishing returns or can actually lead to detrimental leadership.

The findings were made by psychologists at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, who assessed 379 mid-level leaders employed by private companies in 30 mainly European countries. The average age of the participants was 38 and 27 percent of them were women.

Each participant was asked to complete the Wonderlic Personnel Test, a cognitive ability test widely used by employers and educational institutions around the world. The average IQ of the participants was 111, which is well above the average IQ score of 100 for the general population....

As previous studies showed, the Swiss researchers found that there was a linear relationship between intelligence and effective leadership — but only up to a point. This association plateaued and then reversed at IQ 120. Leaders who scored above this threshold scored lowered on transformational and instrumental leadership than less intelligent leaders, as rated by standardized tests. Over an IQ score of 128, the poorer leadership style was plainer and statistically significant, as reported in the Journal of Applied Psychology.

It’s important to note at this point at these ‘very smart’ leaders didn’t employ detrimental leadership styles but rather just scored lower than their ‘less smart’ peers on useful leadership style.
You'll notice that these findings are perfectly consistent with both the observed exclusion of the cognitive elite from the professional elite as well as my distinction between VHIQ and UHIQ. It may also help you understand why I consistently refuse the various leadership positions I am regularly offered as well as why I am so careful about the volunteers I accept.

I intensely dislike explaining things in unnecessary detail, much less justifying things to anyone, especially subordinates. I simply cannot work with people who insist on both a) having the obvious spelled out to them and b) taking umbrage at having things explained step-by-step for them from the beginning as if they were stupid. (Their words, not mine.) Here is the problem with that conceptual dichotomy: if you have to have the obvious spelled out to you, if you can't immediately grasp the whole chain of reasoning from start to finish, then it is necessary to spell everything out from the beginning because the other person cannot possibly know at what point your ability to go from A to Z broke down.

Another problem is the way in which many, if not most, people are unable to recognize that for every effect, there must be a cause. If I ask a question, then I want the answer to it. I don't care if you've told me the answer 40 times before. I don't care if you think I should already know the answer. I don't care if you think there is a different question that I should have asked. Just answer the damned question; I guarantee doing so will take considerably less time than engaging in a debate over any of the various possible permutations of a discussion exploring the reasons why you should not be under any obligation to answer the aforementioned question. What is more likely, the probability that I have forgotten what you have said or the probability that I derive some sort of strange pleasure from forcing you to answer the same question again? Just answer the question that was asked. If that causes any questions to arise on your part, that's fine, but ask them after you answer mine first.

I have also noticed that many people seem to rather enjoy playing dumb, ignoring the most likely context, and insisting on having everything explained to them instead of using their common sense to assume the probable. For example, if I say "wash the car" to my friend, is it reasonable for him to say, "whatever car do you mean? There are millions, tens of millions of cars in the world? How can I possibly take action when I have no idea what car you could possibly be referring to?"

To which my response is: "There is one car in the driveway. It is mine. It is dirty. You borrowed it yesterday. Do you really think I am referring to the presidential limo - no, wait, let's not confuse you and be too general, do you really think I am referring to the U.S. presidential limo?"

Now, the most likely context may or may not be the correct one. But it is surely the correct assumption, which one can either listen and wait to see confirmed by subsequent details, or in the absence of those, a simple question. But to pretend that no actionable information has been presented and that one is operating in a complete absence of data is false, disingenuous, and may even be reasonably considered dishonest. Whether this behavior is the result of looking to excuse inaction, to avoid thinking, or to avoid any responsibility for decision-making, I do not know. Regardless, a highly intelligent person is likely to find this sort of pedantic pseudo-ignorance to be aggravating, and thereby, right from the start, find himself behind the leadership eight-ball in the eyes of his subordinates.

In my opinion, an important aspect of good leadership is a collection of good followers who actively want to be led. I don't think it is a coincidence that the "poorer leadership" line of demarcation observed happens to almost perfectly line up with the so-called 2SD "communications gap". Unfortunately, I don't have any useful advice for the 2SD+ crowd, other than "find smarter subordinates" and "never be surprised by any failure to understand what you think to be obvious."

An urgent need

Some U.S. military observers are surprised by this action by the USAF:
Defense and space industry executives were surprised Wednesday to see a U.S. Air Force “sources sought and request for information” in FedBizOpps on the next-generation missile-warning satellite constellation — known as the Space-Based Infrared System Follow-On.

The Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center invited contractors to an industry day Nov. 21 and gave them a short window of less than 24 hours to register.

To many who have watched the SBIRS follow-on effort drag on for years, the suddenly convened industry day seemed odd. Industry sources said they were puzzled as to why the Air Force solicitation talks about an urgent need and then says a new system would not be deployed until 2029.

The Space and Missile Systems Center’s Remote Sensing Directorate has an “unusual and compelling urgency to constitute a new highly resilient space warfighting construct-based five geosynchronous and two polar next generation architecture, in order to counter emerging threats while operating in a contested environment,” said the solicitation.
Russian military observers are less surprised. I'm going to assume it has something to do with the new Zircon missiles, which reportedly travel at 4,600 mph. That sort of speed is bound to break any current anti-missile system. It also guarantees that the US Navy's control of the seas appears to have gone the way of the Royal Navy's.

The important thing to remember is that this doesn't mean that the U.S. military is unable to defend U.S. borders - that has merely been the will of the civilian leadership for the last 52 years - but that it will no longer be able to project force or impose U.S. demands the way it has in the post-WWII era. Serbia was the warning, and Syria was the onset of the return to a balance of power situation that, while still favorable to the US, is an observable change from the last 25 years of a monopolar world.

40 principles at 40

Mike Cernovich hits a milestone and passes on what he has learned in the preceding 40 years:
Today I’ll be living a day previously unimaginable, because where I grew up, it wouldn’t have been possible to imagine such worlds exist. I’ve been from the poor house to the White House. Here is what I’ve learned along the way to help you dream and live big.
  1. Surrender feelings of self-importance. With apologies to Carlos Castaneda for the blatant ripoff, this is the most important lesson you will learn. It’s not about you. Get over yourself. Incidentally, it amazes me that people complain about their friends without thinking, “Hey, I’m the one who surrounded myself with these people.” It’s only about YOU when you can blame OTHER people for “mistreating” you. What a racket.
  2. View yourself as the most important person in the world. If you are not healthy, wealthy, and wise, how can you leave an impact on the world? If you’re mindset isn’t in order, how can you be a good parent, pastor, teacher, public servant, or even informed citizen. Make yourself great.
  3. Become comfortable with paradoxes. 20 year old men are chomping at the bit to correct the obvious contradiction between 1 and 2. Get used to holding simultaneously contradictory thoughts. For example, free will is a myth, and if you live as if you have free will, your life will improve. If you live as if free will is a myth, you’ll be miserable. This has been scientifically proven. But wait, if free will is a myth, how can you live as if you have free will? Exactly.
  4. Look for the sentiment expressed by a person rather than the literal truth. When someone says, “Live as if today is your last day,” they don’t mean you should go out and exact revenge on your enemies without fear of consequences, or spend all of your money, or do something reckless as if you’re Bill Murray in Groundhog Day. What they mean is to make every day count, because it might be your last day.
  5. You are the product of your habits and your friends and family. If you don’t like who you are, look inside for your habits, and outside at your family and friends. You may need to cut out some negative forces in your life.
Read the rest of them there. This, in my opinion, is probably the most important:

Think big, start small. How did I get to where I am today? I wrote terse posts on a Wordpress dot com blog and trolled with some friends on Twitter. Get out there, make your voice heard, but don’t expect to take over the world in a day or even a year. A decade is more like it.

Remember this when you see how Alt★Hero plays out over the next 18 months. We started with a conversation between Cliff Cosmic and me, followed by a few sketches of him putting my ideas to paper. But we are thinking of disrupting and eventually replacing not one, not two, but three industry giants.

Also, Happy Birthday, Mike!

Tactics are not objectives

Andrew Klavan points out the irony of Democrats complaining that Republicans are now utilizing their tactics:
As Roy Moore's troubles were just getting underway, leftist CNN commentator Van Jones made what has to be one of the least self-aware and yet most revealing comments of the Trumpian Age. Targeting Breitbart firebrand Steve Bannon, who had promoted Moore, Van Jones said, "Bannon is trying to create this sense of an aggrieved identity, frankly, of a white aggrieved identity group that’s under siege by everybody. And this is that in its worse form. So, you’re not supposed to vote as a father, you’re not supposed to vote as a woman. You’re supposed to vote as a member of this identity group against the world. And if that works, that is very, very bad for the Republican Party and it’s very, very bad for our country."

This comes from the man — from the political party — from the philosophy — that has sold absolutely nothing but aggrieved identities for the last sixty years, ever since it became clear that actual leftist policies don't work. Blacks, women, people who think they're women, people who pretend to be black — whatever category you find yourself in, the left has preached that you should ignore the disaster of leftism and focus only on your sweet victimhood, voting your grievances even when it's against your best interests.

In other words, Van Jones' only real complaint against Bannon is that Bannon has sunk to the level of Van Jones!
Ignore the whining. And don't punch back twice as hard. Punch first, and hit them where they're not looking when they're not expecting it.

Identity politics are now the rules of the game. Learn to play by them or lose.

Don't worry about setting examples or troubling precedents. The examples and the precedents are set, whether you like them or not, and whether you approve of them or not. Who cares about accusations of hypocrisy? These days, the only difference between the hypocrite and the non-hypocrite is that the hypocrite has standards, even if they are chiefly acknowledged in the breach. That is vastly preferable to having no standards at all.

However, Klavan and other conservative commentators have got to get over their irrepressible desire to fix the Left and understand that they don't get a vote. The point is not to prove to the Left that they are wrong and that they should stop what they are doing and behave more like we do. The point is to defeat them utterly, then eradicate their ideas from Western civilization before they manage to destroy it once and for all.

A continent, not a government

Rather a lot of this "conservative manifesto for Europe" not only sounds encouraging and inspirational, it sounds familiar:
1. Europe is our home.
Europe belongs to us, and we belong to Europe. These lands are our home; we have no other. The reasons we hold Europe dear exceed our ability to explain or justify our loyalty. It is a matter of shared histories, hopes and loves. It is a matter of accustomed ways, of moments of pathos and pain. It is a matter of inspiring experiences of reconciliation and the promise of a shared future. Ordinary landscapes and events are charged with special meaning—for us, but not for others. Home is a place where things are familiar, and where we are recognized, however far we have wandered. This is the real Europe, our precious and irreplaceable civilization.

2. A false Europe threatens us.
Europe, in all its richness and greatness, is threatened by a false understanding of itself. This false Europe imagines itself as a fulfilment of our civilization, but in truth it will confiscate our home. It appeals to exaggerations and distortions of Europe’s authentic virtues while remaining blind to its own vices. Complacently trading in one-sided caricatures of our history, this false Europe is invincibly prejudiced against the past. Its proponents are orphans by choice, and they presume that to be an orphan—to be homeless—is a noble achievement. In this way, the false Europe praises itself as the forerunner of a universal community that is neither universal nor a community.

3. The false Europe is utopian and tyrannical.
The patrons of the false Europe are bewitched by superstitions of inevitable progress. They believe that History is on their side, and this faith makes them haughty and disdainful, unable to acknowledge the defects in the post-national, post-cultural world they are constructing. Moreover, they are ignorant of the true sources of the humane decencies they themselves hold dear—as do we. They ignore, even repudiate the Christian roots of Europe. At the same time they take great care not to offend Muslims, who they imagine will cheerfully adopt their secular, multicultural outlook. Sunk in prejudice, superstition and ignorance, and blinded by vain, self-congratulating visions of a utopian future, the false Europe reflexively stifles dissent. This is done, of course, in the name of freedom and tolerance.

4. We must defend the real Europe.
We are reaching a dead-end. The greatest threat to the future of Europe is neither Russian adventurism nor Muslim immigration. The true Europe is at risk because of the suffocating grip that the false Europe has over our imaginations. Our nations and shared culture are being hollowed out by illusions and self-deceptions about what Europe is and should be. We pledge to resist this threat to our future. We will defend, sustain and champion the real Europe, the Europe to which we all in truth belong.

5. Solidarity and civic loyalty encourage active participation.
The true Europe expects and encourages active participation in the common project of political and cultural life. The European ideal is one of solidarity based on assent to a body of law that applies to all, but is limited in its demands. This assent has not always taken the form of representative democracy. But our traditions of civic loyalty reflect a fundamental assent to our political and cultural traditions, whatever their forms. In the past, Europeans fought to make our political systems more open to popular participation, and we are justly proud of this history. Even as they did so, sometimes in open rebellion, they warmly affirmed that, despite their injustices and failures, the traditions of the peoples of this continent are ours. Such dedication to reform makes Europe a place that seeks ever-greater justice. This spirit of progress is born out of our love for and loyalty to our homelands.

6. We are not passive subjects.
A European spirit of unity allows us to trust others in the public square, even when we are strangers. The public parks, central squares and broad boulevards of European towns and cities express the European political spirit: We share our common life and the res publica. We assume that it is our duty to take responsibility for the futures of our societies. We are not passive subjects under the domination of despotic powers, whether sacred or secular. And we are not prostrate before implacable historical forces. To be European is to possess political and historical agency. We are the authors of our shared destiny.

7. The nation-state is a hallmark of Europe.
The true Europe is a community of nations. We have our own languages, traditions and borders. Yet we have always recognized a kinship with one another, even when we have been at odds—or at war. This unity-in-diversity seems natural to us. Yet this is remarkable and precious, for it is neither natural nor inevitable. The most common political form of unity-in-diversity is empire, which European warrior kings tried to recreate in the centuries after the fall of the Roman Empire. The allure of the imperial form endured, but the nation-state prevailed, the political form that joins peoplehood with sovereignty. The nation-state thereby became the hallmark of European civilization.

8. We do not back an imposed, enforced unity.
A national community takes pride in governing itself in its own way, often boasts of its great national achievements in the arts and sciences, and competes with other nations, sometimes on the battlefield. This has wounded Europe, sometimes gravely, but it has never compromised our cultural unity. In fact, the contrary has been the case. As the nation states of Europe became more established and distinct, a shared European identity became stronger. In the aftermath of the terrible bloodshed of the world wars in the first half of the twentieth century, we emerged with an even greater resolve to honor our shared heritage. This testifies to the depth and power of Europe as a civilization that is cosmopolitan in a proper sense. We do not seek the imposed, enforced unity of empire. Instead, European cosmopolitanism recognizes that patriotic love and civic loyalty open out to a wider world.

9. Christianity encouraged cultural unity.
The true Europe has been marked by Christianity. The universal spiritual empire of the Church brought cultural unity to Europe, but did so without political empire. This has allowed for particular civic loyalties to flourish within a shared European culture. The autonomy of what we call civil society became a characteristic feature of European life. Moreover, the Christian Gospel does not deliver a comprehensive divine law, and thus the diversity of the secular laws of the nations may be affirmed and honoured without threat to our European unity. It is no accident that the decline of Christian faith in Europe has been accompanied by renewed efforts to establish political unity—an empire of money and regulations, covered with sentiments of pseudo-religious universalism, that is being constructed by the European Union.

10. Christian roots nourish Europe.
The true Europe affirms the equal dignity of every individual, regardless of sex, rank or race. This also arises from our Christian roots. Our gentle virtues are of an unmistakably Christian heritage: fairness, compassion, mercy, forgiveness, peace-making, charity. Christianity revolutionized the relationship between men and women, valuing love and mutual fidelity in an unprecedented way. The bond of marriage allows both men and women to flourish in communion. Most of the sacrifices we make are for the sake of our spouses and children. This spirit of self-giving is yet another Christian contribution to the Europe we love.
The Alt-Right is inevitable. It doesn't need leaders, dramas, or monkey-dancing for the media. It simply needs to stay focused relentlessly, and fearlessly, on expressing the truth. Globalism, multiculutralism, civic nationalism, and progressivism are rely upon the enforcement of lies. The truth will set us free.

A reader sends a not-unrelated quote from Toynbee:
"The moth's self-inflicted doom is an apt simile for the nemesis that overtakes the barbarian invaders of more prosperous societies that lack the military strength to hold their aggressive barbarian neighbors at bay. The barbarian invaders' greed is self-defeating. If the the intruders are not eventually exterminated by a counter-stroke, as the Gutaean conquerors of Sumer and Akkad were, they survive only to share in the impoverishment that they have inflicted on their victims."
The problem, of course, is that even impoverishment by European standards is still better than living in non-European filth. And the European women are considerably more accessible, both with and without consent.

Mailvox: Justice League review

DJ watches it so you don't have to.

I had some time to kill in town today. Didn’t want to drive back home just to turn around. Decided to roll the dice and see the Justice League Movie. Consider this me taking one for the team.   It was abysmal. Just flat out boring. But it was offensive, too.

Before the opening credits even completed, while the movie tries to convince us the world has gone to hell with the death of Superman, we witness two angry white men (one with a shaved head, of course) assaulting a grocery owning Muslim family.  But that’s actually the only “bad” scene we see. All the other scenes were just of urban decay and sad people in mourning.

Yet, that’s not the only reason I found the movie offensive. It was a horrendously dumbed-down version of the DC Apokolips/Darkseid mythos. Truly awful. Further, the introductions of Aquaman and Flash completely rewrite those characters, making them as annoying as they are impotent.

Flash is a self-described fearful Jew who admits being scared of bugs and running away from trouble, perfectly ok letting others do all the fighting. Arthur Curry is a depicted as a petulant and spoiled resigned member of Atlantis, who even with near godlike power and freedom, drinks himself silly while complaining about his mommy.

Cyborg was pretty on point and probably the best part of the movie.

A risen Superman?  Boring. Made more so by returning him to his all-powerful, Silver Age, personality-missing, truth and justice (minus the American Way) flying savior.

Wonder Woman?  Well...let’s just say I wouldn’t be surprised if Zach Snyder ends up on the Miramax Scoreboard soon considering how many times we got to see a center focus shot of Gal Gadot’s rear. As for her character?  By the end of the movie she’s telling us Batman wanted her to lead the team (which he never actually does), and that she’s supposed to be the glue for the league, all the while smiling patronizingly at all the “supermen” around her...until of course a shirtless Clark Kent arrives on scene, at which point she drops the smile and visibly quivers at the sight of hairy Henry’s chest.

Not ever how the angry-and-suspicious-of-all-men Wonder Woman was ever depicted.

Bruce Wayne/Batman?  Fat. Fat, and not at all intimidating on any level. The Batman. Not intimidating. It’s a joke, but when Barry Allen asks what Bruce’s super power, Bruce responds, “I’m rich,” but that’s clearly what we’re supposed to take away from Batman. He’s too old, too slow, past his prime, useless without real powers (as even stated by Arthur Curry), and nothing without his money.

What. The. Hell.  Not the greatest tactician to ever live. Not the world’s greatest detective. Not the most feared crime fighter villains have ever faced - also, every human bad guy in the movie is a white male; even Steppenwolf is depicted with pinkish white skin. No. Batman is just sort of the Justice League’s bruised-and-broken, Scotch-drinking rich uncle.

There was never any real danger once they raised Superman. None. No challenge. No real conflict. Just that tired trope of “if only we come together as a team, we can defeat anything,” and do it better than all those who did it before. Before, it took the combined forces of all the Amazons, all the Atlantians, all the heroes of all the tribes of man, AND the old gods to defeat Steppenwolf and the danger of the trinity box. This time it just takes a desire for justice as stated by Superman at the beginning of the final battle.

Ahhh!!  Even the CGI landscape the League flies into for the final battle looked cheap and fake!  Nothing about this movie reminded me of the hours I’d spend reading comics growing up!  None of it!  Not even the rise of Superman carried any inspiration whatsoever.

These mythical stories and adventures are supposed to inspire us to be better people, but this movie wasn’t that at all. It was plain and not mythical. It was common and trite. It wasn’t even good brain candy. It was exhausting.

It was just boring.
